Elke is made from paperclay, and has a tussah silk wig. She can sit independently in certain positions, although I recommend propping her against something to avoid tipping over. Her clothing is made from Japanese paper, tulle, and vintage cotton organdy treated with cyanotype and flowers from my garden. She is direct-sculpted without the use of molds, and painted with watercolours.

IMPORTANT NOTES

-Dolls should be kept out of any direct sunlight (even in winter) and damp conditions.

-Every aspect of my dolls is handmade; they are not meant to appear flawless or mass-produced, but rather like something you might find in your cool Grandma's trunk. Their seams and hems are intentionally raw, the stitching is often visible and their surfaces have small irregularities; all of this adds to their unique, handmade aesthetic. Despite their antique look, the dolls are very carefully constructed; if well cared for, they should last generations.
