Quel plaisir! Yes, it's true; the other Mr. Postman rang my bell (ahem - I mean that quite literally, of course) and handed me a lovely little package all the way from Australia. I was so delighted to find the sweetest letter and this gorgeous little portrait from Monika Viktoria, the adoptive mother of both Philomena and Cecily:
I think it is a lovely likeness of Philomena, and you can see more of Monika's beautiful artwork on her blog, The Long Lost Woods.
I've been working long hours on a special project that I'm not quite ready to share, but I hope to take pictures tomorrow and will definitely post them before we leave for Maine for Christmas with Mr. L's parents. In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the whole dismal showing at Copenhagen might not end as bleakly as it seemed. I've long despised the Harper government, but his actions (or lack thereof) at this conference have been particularly shameful. I would apologize as a Canadian, but then I fear I would somehow be associating myself with him. Ick. But rather than end on a sour note, I'll leave you with a picture of the one doll I've managed to finish and photograph since my last update; a little splash of colour on this very cold day.
