This will be a short post as we are leaving tomorrow for Maine and as always, I have all sorts of last-minute thingys to finish; Mr. L's present, laundry, general tidying to make the place presentable for the cat-sitter. But I mentioned a special project, and you may remember back in the summer I mused about a future Alice in Wonderland update. Well, the future is here. I think I kept putting it off because it seems like such a very big and daunting idea, and because - as it does for so many - Alice in Wonderland means so much to me, as a book but also as an aesthetic and as a greater world. I'm also pretty fascinated by Lewis Carroll the writer as the public face of Charles Dodgson, the professor and photographer and his preoccupation with Alice Liddell. But I'll save the academic wanking for a later post. For now, I'll just...Alice!
